The existing conservatory is proposed to be removed to make way for a new bedroom extension off the southwest corner of the house. The extension will have timber weatherboard cladding and a corrugated steel hip roof to match the style of the existing house; The existing hip roof over the living area will be extended upward from its ridgeline to form a skillion roof with line of clerestory windows above the existing west wall. The living areas of the house face east, and the new clerestory windows are intended to create better daylighting by capturing the afternoon sunlight from the west; A number of minor internal changes will also be made, and new larger windows will be added to the upstairs bedroom to introduce more daylighting and take better advantage of bush views.
