Undertake pathway protection works on the northern side of the Horokiri Stream over a lineal distance of about 20 metres. The works involve installing Eco Reef modules along an eroding section of bank that is threatening the integrity of the Te Ara Piko Pathway. The stream is rapidly eating into the pathway with an increasing risk of threat to the integrity of the approach to the nearby pathway bridge. The method of installation and the design proposed by Eco Reef, as outlined in this application, has been optimised to reduce the impact on the stream and surrounding environment. Examples of similar work by Eco Reef can be found at the following link: https://Eco Reef.co.nz/applications-for-erosioncontrol/. The applicant seeks to undertake the work as soon as possible to prevent further damage. Please refer to report prepared by Down to Earth Planning and supporting documents,
