The Applicant’s property at 3 Hawke Crescent is located along a stretch of coastline characterised by eroding over-steep cliffs. A combination of weathering and wave erosion have undermined the cliff toe, threatening the stability of the upper cliff. It is proposed to place a rock masonry seawall, to protect the cliff toe from further retreat, and additional landward walls to allow the cliff line to be retreated to a more stable batter.
