A landslip on the western side of the site was caused by heavy rainfall events in early 2023 and took out a section of wastewater pi pe servicing at least 100 houses. A robust temporary repair included installation of a 150mm PVC pipe bridge. Prior to the landslip the wastewater pipe was underground. Retrospective resource consent required for construction of aboveground pipe under Flood Recove ry Works program
